Conde ca 1955
This is a great example of a simple guitar that has the voice of a great instrument. This is an undated Conde likely made in the Conde apprentice shop. According to the previous owner it dates around 1955 which appears quite likely. The cypress on the back is quite wide grained and while attractive certainly wasn’t considered top line wood at the time. Yet now, after nearly 60 years of use, this guitar has developed a mature, explosive sound that is seldom found in newer guitars. This like a few other guitars in our Private Reserve proves that there are a lot of wonderful instruments out there that don’t necessarily have the pedigree (or price) of the first level collectible instruments but are nonetheless real treasures.
