Ramirez 1973
This is a concert level Ramirez guitar with a Modelo Segovia Sherry Brener gold label. It is likely that this guitar was 2a model, so designated because of a rating of the Brazilian rosewood at the time as not being to the 1a standard. The rosewood on this guitar is very straight and extremely high quality by today’s standards. There are two filled holes which according to the original owner were nail holes as he was told this particular set of wood was repurposed from furniture wood. The sound is big full and very much in keeping with the “Ramirez sound.” The action is a bit high, especially on the bass side because of the cantilevered fingerboard Ramirez used at the time. In spite of this and the 664mm scale length the guitar is actually quite comfortable to play. Overall condition is very good.
