Mengual y Margarit Serie NT “Second”

This Mengual y Margarit Serie NT model is from the upper end of the Alhambra workshop where the senior luthiers work. This guitar came to us at a big savings as a second because of light scratches in the French polish top. The NT designation means New Torres referencing the classic Spanish style construction of Antonio Torres. The modification to the Torres fan bracing is partly in two transverse top braces instead of a bridge bar that form a lattice across the fan braces. The guitar has a big, forward, modern sound with booming basses and lively trebles. These models are concert worthy guitars that don’t often show up in the U.S.
