Sobrinos de Santos Hernandez 1967

This flamenco guitar with the Casa Antigua Sherry Brener label Sobrinos de Santos Hernandez is likely an instrument from luthier Feliciano Bayon. Bayon was married to a niece of Santo’s wife. After Santos’ widow died in 1955 Bayon inherited the workshop, later passing it on to his son Santos Bayon. While the direct influence of Santos Hernandez on Bayon’s work is questionable, this guitar is nevertheless expertly constructed and quite lovely in all of it’s aesthetic appointments. The guitar is in excellent shape and shows very little evidence of having been played much.
